Germany company Bayersiches Staatsballett commissioned Japanese designer Tomio Mohri to create the costumes and the set for their ballet show La Bayadère. It was a privilege having the chance to visit the backstage and see the costumes in person a few hours before I watched the show in Hong Kong.
The textures, the fabrics, and the embroideries are true pieces of art. They are all hand sewn and hand painted. Some of them took weeks to create and even a couple of months to complete.
